China Suppliers Factory KFRP Strength Member for Optical Cables - Lightweight, High Strength Reinforcement

Optical cable reinforcement is a key component in optical cable design, typically positioned at the center to support the optical fiber unit or bundle. This reinforcement enhances the tensile strength of the optical cable, ensuring reliable performance. While traditional optical cables often utilize metal reinforcements, the growing demand for non-metal alternatives is evident. These non-metal reinforcements, favored by many manufacturers in China, offer advantages such as lightweight construction, high strength, corrosion resistance, and extended lifespan. As a leading supplier and factory in the optical cable industry, we provide innovative reinforcement solutions to meet diverse customer needs.

    Product Introduction

Optical cable reinforcement is an important component of optical cable, generally placed in the center of the optical cable, its role is to support the optical fiber unit or optical fiber bundle, improve the tensile strength of the optical cable. Traditional optical cables use metal reinforcements. Non-metal reinforcement parts with their own light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, long life advantages are more and more used in various optical cable.

KFRP fiber cable reinforcement core (aramid fiber) is a new type of high performance composite material, which is made by pultrusion process after mixing resin as matrix material and aramid fiber as reinforcement material. KFRP cable reinforcement core (aramid fiber) overcomes the defects of traditional metal cable reinforcement parts. In addition to excellent corrosion resistance, lightning resistance, electromagnetic field interference, and high tensile strength advantages, its flexibility is stronger than GFRP glass fiber reinforcement core. It is not easy to break, can better protect the fiber, and is especially suitable for direct introduction from outdoor to indoor occasions. It is widely used in inlet network and indoor wiring.

    KFRP Features & Advantages

    (1) Compared with GFRP, KFRP has lower density, lighter weight, higher tensile strength and modulus than GFRP, low extension, low expansion, and wide temperature range.
    (2) Non-metallic materials are not sensitive to electric shock, lightning protection, excellent insulation performance, free from electromagnetic interference, suitable for lightning, rainy climate environment.
    (3) Chemical corrosion resistance: compared with the metal core, the KFRP reinforced core will not produce gas caused by the chemical reaction between the metal and the ointment and affect the fiber transmission performance.
    (4) The cable with KFRP reinforced core can be installed next to the power line and the power supply device, and will not be interfered by the induced current generated by the power line or the power supply device.
    (5) KFRP has excellent flexibility, better bending performance than GFRP, is not easy to be broken, stable size, easy to process and lay, can make indoor cable structure compact and beautiful, especially suitable for access network and complex environment small space wiring.
    (6) Impact resistance and fracture resistance: KFRP reinforced core has ultra-high tensile strength, after being accidentally broken, its tensile strength remains above 1300MPa, the modulus remains unchanged, and it will not puncture the protective sleeve and damage the optical fiber.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is KFRP fiber cable reinforcement core?
KFRP (aramid fiber) is a high-performance composite material made by a pultrusion process. It mixes resin as a matrix material and aramid fiber as a reinforcement material to support the optical fiber unit and improve the cable's tensile strength.
What are the main advantages of KFRP over GFRP?
Compared with GFRP, KFRP has a lower density, lighter weight, higher tensile strength and modulus, low extension, and low expansion. Additionally, KFRP has superior flexibility, better bending performance, and is much harder to break.
Is KFRP sensitive to lightning or electromagnetic interference?
No. As a non-metallic material, KFRP is completely insensitive to electric shock and electromagnetic interference. It offers excellent insulation performance, making it highly suitable for environments with frequent lightning or rainy climates.
What are the specific storage requirements for KFRP?
KFRP should be stored and transported within a temperature range of -40°C to +60°C. It must be protected from moisture, long-term sun exposure, and rain. Furthermore, cable trays should not be placed flat, stacked high, or subjected to collision and crushing.
What is the standard delivery length for KFRP round cores?
For diameter ranges between 0.40mm and 3.00mm, the standard delivery length is ≧25km. We also offer customization to produce non-standard diameters and lengths based on specific user requirements.
