China Suppliers Factory KFRP Strength Member for Optical Cable Reinforcement - Lightweight & Durable Solution
Product Introduction
Optical cable reinforcement is an important component of optical cable, generally placed in the center of the optical cable, its role is to support the optical fiber unit or optical fiber bundle, improve the tensile strength of the optical cable. Traditional optical cables use metal reinforcements. Non-metal reinforcement parts with their own light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, long life advantages are more and more used in various optical cable.
KFRP fiber cable reinforcement core (aramid fiber) is a new type of high performance composite material, which is made by pultrusion process after mixing resin as matrix material and aramid fiber as reinforcement material. KFRP cable reinforcement core (aramid fiber) overcomes the defects of traditional metal cable reinforcement parts. In addition to excellent corrosion resistance, lightning resistance, electromagnetic field interference, and high tensile strength advantages, it has stronger flexibility than GFRP glass fiber reinforcement core, is not easy to break, and can better protect the fiber. It is especially suitable for direct introduction from outdoor to indoor occasions, and is widely used in inlet network and indoor wiring.
KFRP Features & Advantages
-
Compared with GFRP, KFRP has lower density, lighter weight, higher tensile strength and modulus, low extension, low expansion, and wide temperature range.
-
Non-metallic materials are not sensitive to electric shock, offer lightning protection, excellent insulation performance, and are free from electromagnetic interference, making them suitable for lightning and rainy climate environments.
-
Chemical corrosion resistance: compared with the metal core, the KFRP reinforced core will not produce gas caused by chemical reactions between the metal and the ointment, which could affect fiber transmission performance.
-
The cable with KFRP reinforced core can be installed next to power lines and power supply devices, and will not be interfered by induced currents generated by them.
-
KFRP has excellent flexibility, better bending performance than GFRP, is not easy to break, features a stable size, is easy to process and lay, and can make indoor cable structures compact and beautiful. Especially suitable for access networks and complex environment small space wiring.
-
Impact resistance and fracture resistance: KFRP reinforced core has ultra-high tensile strength. After being accidentally broken, its tensile strength remains above 1300MPa, the modulus remains unchanged, and it will not puncture the protective sleeve or damage the optical fiber.

It is a new type of high-performance composite material made by a pultrusion process after mixing resin as the matrix material and aramid fiber as the reinforcement material.
KFRP overcomes the defects of metal cores by offering excellent corrosion resistance, lightning resistance, immunity to electromagnetic field interference, and high tensile strength while remaining lightweight.
Yes, KFRP is highly suitable for such environments. It possesses excellent insulation performance, is not sensitive to electric shocks, and remains completely free from electromagnetic interference.
Thanks to its impact and fracture resistance, even after an accidental break, its tensile strength remains above 1300MPa. The modulus remains unchanged, ensuring it will not puncture the protective sleeve or damage the optical fiber.
For diameters ranging from 0.40mm to 3.00mm, the standard delivery length is ≧ 25km. Non-standard lengths can also be produced according to user requirements.
They should be stored at a temperature range of -40°C to +60°C. Ensure they are protected from moisture and long-term rain. The cable tray must not be laid flat or stacked too high, and the core should be protected from collision or crushing.
